After the Christmas rush, we begin to look forward to the new season and planning for the year ahead. Twice a year Paris holds one of the biggest interior trade shows, Maison et Objet. It is a great opportunity to catch up with suppliers, look for new products and get a whole load of interiors inspiration!
We caught an early morning flight on Friday and headed straight to Maison. This was our second time at the show, so this time round we had a much better idea of where we needed to go out of the 8 huge halls! You can find everything here, from textiles, cookware, stationary, to high end designer brands.
I also use this trip as an opportunity to have a little break away with my husband, so on Saturday we spent the day in Paris soaking up inspiration in the Le Marais area, visiting creative stores such as Merci. Which is a very cool concept store that has become well known for championing new designers.
We then headed to the Louvre, stopping by Angelina's on the way. I'd read that this tea room was famous for their pudding-like hot chocolate, and they didn't disappoint!
On Sunday we walked along the river to the Promenade Plantée. A thee mile long highline, standing 10 meters above the streets that has been transformed into an urban garden space. It was lovely to see Parisian architecture up close, and I can imagine it's beautiful in the summer months when the flowers are in full bloom and the trees are full of leaves.
